Sorry Orla, week went away from me and never got going.

Starting point is here

http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&ll=52.5 ... 9,,0,10.58

It's about 14km depending on how far you go up obviously but lovely running around here and great views. How long? Depends how much you like running up the side of mountains but about 80-90 minutes. It's pretty much 7km straight up with not much flat, helps to run in trail shoes definitly on the way down. Gibbet hill is also a great place to run around (maybe some could put up the google map of the start point) and a good starting place to ease into hill running.

Hi, thanks for these replies and apologies for only replying now. I drove up to Ballycrystal today and it looks amazing up there. Let me know if/when anyone is going again and I'll try my best to tag along. Dena/Joy/anyone - would you fancy this one morning maybe??

Right guys a few of us decided to try pin down a date for this, and thinking the first sat after Xmas it's the 29th dec early morning ish.

Hopefully we can get a good crowd, what better way for everyone to catch up after Xmas (and burn off some of them mince pies)

For those who haven't done the route, there's no denying it is a toughie but very runnable and the view at the top is well worth the effort.
