Another really good day out - must have been an omen - saw a 795 jersey on the backroads of Ballytrent but it was actually Dena flying around a bend having cycled from home! Weather was nice and it was run over a fairly bare grass track.
Fintan having had a fill of beer on Friday nite after Tracey's graduation (congrats by the way Tracey!) was looking a hairy (if you excuse the pun) but that didn't stop the mad flocker from leading it out for the first of 8 laps. It was great to see
and I think it raised a few eyebrows, putting 795 on the radar. Expected Fintan to die a bit towards the end but it didn't happen, in fact he looked stronger as the race went on and he ran a great 5th. It was a pretty strong field (I think) for an intermediate and delighted to finish in 9th 11 seconds behind Bernard Fortune of 'hill runner animal' fame.
Up next is the senior on the 16th of December in Enniscorthy. Something to keep you focused for the long winter. Just because it says senior don't let that imtimidate you, there will be all standards and ages there from Tom to Billy Harpur.
Just use it as a good training run. Would be great to have you back John and hopefully a few others.
